Florence

Florence nowadays is part “old” and part “new”. The old is the magnificent buildings you can see everywhere in Florence the craftmanship is beautiful. Florence in the heart of Tuscany is a favourite with many holiday makers. The most popular sights to see are mostly in the the historic centre of Florence. The most famous square is Piazza dell Signoria. The Loggia della Signoria has a copy of the sculpture of Michelangelos David. The piazza has much to offer and all around are cafes and restaurants so you can have something to eat or drink and take a good look at the beauty of everything around you.
The Cathedral, Il Duomo, needs time to take in all of its beauty inside and out. If you feel fit there are 400+ steps up to the Dome to see the artistry. You can even go outside the Dome and see over all of Florence. The Ponte Vecchio, the old bridge, has shops on it which sell gold and silver jewellery. There is a great view along the river Arno. Across the bridge is the Giardino di Boboli a place of lovely gardens and fountains. There are many many sights to see in Florence.
If you know where to look there are lots of inexpensive places to eat. The tourist places are the dearest ones especially if you want to sit outside! Go to the Mercat Centrale apart from the stalls there are places to sit and eat a good lunch. Buon Appetito!
